1. Who We Are

Learning of the Day ("we", "us", "our") operates learningoftheday.com, an educational platform providing weekly question packs for primary school students. We are committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children.

2. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

We take children's privacy extremely seriously. In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

  • Children under 13 do not create accounts directly.
  • Only parents or legal guardians sign up and create child profiles.
  • We collect minimal data about children: name, class level, avatar selection, and learning progress only.
  • We do not use children's data for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing.
  • Parents can request deletion of all child data at any time by contacting us.

3. Data We Collect

Parent account data: Email address, full name, payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store card details).

Child profile data: First name, class level, avatar choice, question answers, accuracy scores, streak data.

Usage data: Login timestamps, questions answered, pages visited (via analytics).

4. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and improve the learning platform
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe
  • To display progress and streak information to parents
  • To send account-related emails (receipts, password resets)
  • To analyse platform usage and improve question quality

5. GDPR Rights (EU/UK Users)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion ("right to be forgotten"), restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Contact us at hello@learningoftheday.com to exercise any right.

6. Australian Privacy Act

We comply with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Australian residents have rights to access and correct personal information we hold about them.

7. Data Retention

We retain parent account data for as long as the account is active. Child learning data is retained for 2 years after last activity or until deleted by the parent. Payment records are retained for 7 years for legal compliance.

8. Third-Party Services

We use: Supabase (database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional email), Netlify (hosting), Google Analytics (anonymised usage analytics), Anthropic Claude API (question generation — no user data is sent to Claude).

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Analytics cookies are used only with consent. See our Cookie Policy for details.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
